The successful candidate should expect to be knowledgeable in geotechnical, transportation, environmental, and hydraulic engineering.

Project Specialists can also expect to work with other members of the commercial team to drive marketing and new product innovation initiatives.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

• Understands and applies the basic engineering concepts, practices, and theories involved in the design/development/review/permitting, construction, maintenance, operations, or repair of, projects/sites and their potential environmental and safety impacts.

• Prepares/reviews engineering/technical plans and/or data for completeness, compatibility, compliance with engineering principles, standards, codes, and design needs; makes suggestions to higher level engineers or managers on project concerns/issues.

• Makes decisions on routine engineering matters or other areas requiring technical engineering knowledge. Decisions are subject to review.

• Expresses basic engineering concepts and related facts in a clear, concise, and organized manner.

• Writes clear, concise, and organized documents and reports addressing basic engineering concepts and facts.

• Presents detailed technical information, guidelines, and standards to seek compliance and/or approval.

• Actively participates in trade organizations relevant to Propex’s overall strategy in order to properly position Propex’s product portfolio in the marketplace, work with others in the industry to advance the technology, and provide positive support and guidance to others in the group.

• Assists in consultation, gathers information in response to an inquiry.

• Applies mathematical, physical, and engineering sciences to routine services or creative work as consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, and design of engineering projects. Plans methods and resources. • Serves as a member on a program/project team and helps develop project solutions. May serve as a team leader. Promotes program goals and objectives.

• Works with Marketing to develop new collateral in support of new and existing products.

• Works with Marketing to develop marketing collateral such as training binders, sale sheets, white papers, magazine articles, etc. in support of Propex’s product portfolio


• Working knowledge of geotextiles and other geosynthetics, FHWA and AASHTO design guidelines, and general construction practices preferred

• Superior engineering and mathematical skills

• Ability to analyze and interpret data

• Attention to detail needed

• Excellent critical thinking skills


• No direct reports

• Workspace resides at Chattanooga, TN office

• Key Influencers for Partnering  Internal: Engineering Services, Mark Development Managers (MDMs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Marketing  External: Distributors, Contractors, Engineers, Regulatory Agencies, Utility Owner / Operators, Industry Association


• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, other engineering, construction management, or other relevant technical field of study

• EIT/FE Required • Goal-oriented professional capable of autonomous ownership of tasks

• Acute knowledge or Propex products, solutions, and applications

• Ability to influence, present to, and build relationships with team members, customers, and industry influencers

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level

• Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with cross-functional teams

• Basic financial and business acumen

• Understanding of customer, competitor, channel conflicts, and supplier relationships

• Superior project management, communication, interpersonal, business writing, analytical, problem solving, negotiation, organizational skills.

• Proficient in technical tools and applications for efficient communication (Microsoft Office Suite apps, iOS functionality, SAP, etc.) OTHER:

• Ability and willingness for frequent (25%) domestic travel, and residing on projects for extended periods of time as necessary

• No physical limitations that might prevent or restrict traverse of typical site
