Purpose of the Position:

An EBM’s role is to develop relationships within the specifying community to generate specifications for TCGA products.  EBM will be assigned geographic region and will work with Region Manager(s) to develop and implement a plan for each location.  EBM will frequently conduct presentations for technical audiences in private and public engineering firms, at industry trade shows, and occasionally, to a TCGA distributor.  EBMs should develop a network of relationships in the business and routinely follow up on those relationships for project leads, etc.

An EBMs primary focus should be on specifying TCGA’s proprietary Roadway and Capping products while promoting our broad application knowledge to build trust and generate sales across our product offering. 

Specifiers to be targeted include Public, Private, Commercial (Walmart, TrammelCrow, etc.), and Industrial/Utilities (Southern Company, Int’l Paper, etc.) influencers.  EBM’s should understand and decide, in conjunction with the RSM & Manager, which specifiers to target and what goals to set.

EBMs should proactively (~80% of time) lead the effort to target, engage, and “sell” TCGA’s RSi/H2Ri(Roadway) & CR(Capping) products.  This plan should be developed in coordination with RSM to ensure that actions are aligned.  The balance of their time (~20%), EBMs are to provide technical promotion & support for non-proprietary products as engaged/invited by RSM, ESRM, Distributors, and Customers.

Incentives are earned on all products in PMC 304 and specific CCR products (CR220, CR330, CR440) in PMC 305.  Other Value Products are defined as all products in the following PMCs:  305, 306, 335, 354, 339 payout at a lower rate.  Product classifications will be reviewed annually and changes in classifications will be applied at the first of the year.

(Other standard geotextiles, nonwovens, etc. and Geotubes should be mentioned but are not included in the incentive plan)


Guide to the Position:

  1. In coordination with the Region Sales Manager, develop and implement a technical promotion plan for RS/H2R/CR products in the assigned market(s).

  2. Proactively engage Region Sales Managers to develop a technical training and assistance program for representatives and distributors.

  3. Diligently utilize provided tools, such as CRM, to post, track, share information, and close opportunities.

  4. Support other products as requested, ie, paving, walls, slopes, etc, limiting to 20% of total efforts.

  5. Proactively travel to engage Targeted specifiers - >50% of work time

  6. Provide technical support to Regional Sales Personnel and Marketing for the specific EBM marketed products.

  7. Upon a successful specification with a specifier, EBM should proactively engage and monitor project to its conclusion.

  8. Ideally, an EBM complete at least 50 specifier/influencer presentations per year.

  9. Occasionally provide support or guidance to Tech Services group (Identify and communicate potential ME test sites to Tech Service for decision and management)

  10. EBM should know key DOT personnel including Pavement, Geotech, Materials in their respective Region.

  11. Participation in local industry committees and memberships such as ASHE, ASCE, APWA, ACEC, & G-I as agreed to with Manager. (Technical Service will handle ASTM(TS), FHWA(TS), TRB(TS)GRI, ASCE, etc).

  12. Coordinate the communication of technical news and developments to Regional Sales Personnel.

  13. Field technical and engineering related inquiries


Specifications of the Position:

  1. Minimum education required: BS Engineering (civil or geotechnical preferred) or significant, related technical experience.

  2. Minimum experience required: Extensive independent judgement and related technical product promotion experience in the construction market.  Requires knowledge of TenCate Geosynthetics’ product technology, customers, and typical software applications, ie Office, CRM.  Minimum of 3-5 years related experience required.

  3. Description of working conditions/physical surroundings: Depending on location, will work out of home office, or company provided office environment

  4. Position requires significant travel, typically 50-75 nights per year. (50%)

  5. Shift work: No

  6.
