How They’re Made
HPTRM are woven from polypropylene yarns with a patented technology that results in a random, 3-dimensional pattern. They are designed for steep slopes (where erosion control is common) and their advanced composition allows them to provide bare soil retention, vegetation nurturing and high performance turf reinforcement. In addition, its lighter weight means that less raw materials were used to create the mats, which lowers the overall carbon footprint.
How They Work
HPTRM help prevent erosion by acting as a safeguard for the soil’s surface to protect it from being blown or washed away. The mat’s unique design creates inner pockets, which encourage the growth of the grass roots system. The mat also allows ample sunlight to reach the soil and helps dissipate flowing water. They are unaffected by biological degradation and resist naturally encountered chemicals, alkalis, and acids.
